We have an immediate opening for an Embedded Linux evangelist to join our technical marketing team and help drive the future of our Embedded Linux software offerings.

 

The ideal candidate for the Technical Marketing Embedded Linux position will have the following attributes:

Skills/Qualifications

  • Embedded Linux OS, Linux Kernel and device tree understanding
  • Knowledge of Yocto, Debian, Ubuntu, Buildroot, other Embedded Linux build tools
  • Experience with Hypervisors, Linux, U-boot and bootloaders
  • Knowledge of Xilinx devices, tools and software
  • Familiar with ARM processors, Cortex-A9, Cortex-A53, Cortex-A72, Cortex R5
  • Demonstrates flexible adaptability in working with still maturing and generation-dependent software development
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment as part of a collaborative team in multiple geographies to creatively solve
  • challenging problems
  • Fully self-sufficient in software development concepts and methods, coding, and debugging
  • Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with engineering, marketing, customers, and field people to deliver timely solutions
  • High competency with automation scripting and programming languages (i.e., TCL Perl, Bash, Python)
  • Desire to be hands on with Xilinx tools, devices, boards and software

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand customer needs for embedded Linux and run time software on Xilinx devices rationalize, prioritize and work with engineering

and peers to enhance the Xilinx enablement: Either directly or through partner offerings.

  • Review current industry Yocto flows and drive our Yocto First Initiative, improving ease of use
  • Evaluate development flows and give constructive feedback to engineering
  • Understand Customer work flows and how Xilinxs offering best fit the needs
  • Drive Open Source Strategy for Yocto, Xen, OpenAMP, and other projects
  • Contribute to the Certified Ubuntu project for AMD-Xilinx silicon
  • Develop training and marketing material for AMD-Xilinx Field teams
  • Run the flows developed and give constructive feedback to engineering
    • Understand Customer work flows and how Xilinxs offering best fit the needs
    • Works with marketing segments to understand the different needs of each and work to deliver a baseline solution that can fit their needs
    • Work with Xilinx tools to understand what needs to be done for Linux as a foundational piece of what the tools will use
    • Help define and create customer demos or example designs
    • Aid in pre-sales customer development by supporting the field with expertise in Linux and Run time software
    • Document best practices in Xilinx documentation and Wiki

 

Qualifications

 

Education/Experience:

  • BS/MS (Master's Degree preferred) in CS/EE/ECE with a minimum of 10+ years' experience in Linux, FPGAs, Xilinx SoCs, Software tools, SoCs, and software programming.
