Director Firmware Development 



This Director of Firmware Development offers a challenging position to bring to market the cutting-edge products and grow AMD’s presence with Data center partners and customers.  The role involves driving firmware development teams to produce firmware features and products aligned to cutting edge enterprise products, as well as mapping out and converging on a firmware strategy aligned to customer needs. 



Candidates possess a passion for delivering high quality products to demanding customers, a tenacity to drive process improvement required amidst an ambitious product roadmap, and a commitment to cultural integrity of a “people first” model while inspiring the extraordinary from the team.



  • Driving cross functional firmware teams to deliver quality firmware features to committed schedules
  • Planning  open source firmware and other platform firmware strategies
  • Closely interacting with firmware developers and ASIC Design team in new feature definition and bring up for future product generation.
  • Ensuring customer quality and delight of well- architected and developed solutions. 
  • Influencing others as a technical leader
  • Building and leveraging trusting relationships with stakeholders
  • Scaling organizational firmware competency to meet future demands



  • Prior experience leading technical organizations
  • Prior experience working with BIOS solutions, such as UEFI, Legacy BIOS, or Coreboot
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams from multiple domains
  • Solid knowledge of software development process
  • Solid knowledge of PC architecture.
  • Strong understanding of CPU and memory architecture
  • Demonstrated relevant working experience in software development
  • Demonstrated proficiency leading technical teams



  • Bachelor's EE or CS required, Master's preferred
