GPU Compute Performance Engineer


The Role:
We are looking for a person to join our GPU performance analysis team to work on the latest AMD technologies! Mainly to work with cross functional teams to manage GPU performance clock targets, chip ball-out compatibility, power/performance targets, and chip specifications across different processor stacks.


The Person:
We are looking for an exceptional engineer with hands-on capability and technical experience to join the GPU performance analysis team. To be successful in this role, we need someone highly motivated, upbeat and passionate about performance. We need a problem solver who is flexible, driven, and versatile enough to go where the challenges take them.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs various in-depth performance analysis for current and future AMD compute products as well as competitive products.
  • Review Compute GPU and CPU performance resources to help identify potential performance bottlenecks in current and future benchmark applications.
  • Actively looks for better ways to enhance the current infrastructure to support hardware and software performance tuning on Compute GPUCollaborates with local and remote teams on behalf of the team or project.
  • Creates and develops tools and analysis methodologies to facilitate debug and analysis.
  • Collaborates with HW, SW designers and architects to best understand, analyze, and diagnose Compute GPU performance.


Preferred Experience:

  • Knowledge of GPU architecture is required
  • Knowledge of Compute GPU workloads and drivers is highly desired.
  • Experience in performance analysis is required.
  • Excellent programming with scripting languages such as Perl or Python is required.
  • Strong analysis, problem-solving and reporting skills are highly desired
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills


Academic Credentials:

  • B.S. with more than 10 years of applicable experience, M.S. with more than 7 years of applicable experience.
