Radeon Power and Performance GPU Power/Perf Architect
The Role:
- Drive/analyze power/performance data over post-silicon, emulation & competitive platforms to identify opportunities for critical perf/power improvement. Work closely with GFX & sub-system architects for integration in future RDNA/CDNA products
Responsibilities:
- Leverage diagnostics’ & real workloads to enable sub-system competitive analysis and identify opportunities for perf/power improvement.
- Define perf/power studies & work closely with architects to analyze & implement them on future products
- Develop simulation, emulation, and silicon measurement strategies to validate SoC and platform level performance power efficiency for variety of workloads.
- Define new tests, test benches that can isolate performance power inefficiencies.
- Analyze performance and power results (from simulation, emulation, and/or silicon). Root cause correlation issues, and/or design inefficiency.
- Work with verification and hardware emulation teams to better leverage hardware emulation platforms for GPU performance and power validation.
Requirements:
- Prior hands-on GPU/CPU hardware experience; GPU is a plus
- Fairly knowledgeable in [functional, performance, and/or power] analysis methodologies.
- Pre-silicon and/or post silicon debug experience.
- Excellent knowledge of verilog, C, C++ and a scripting language; experience with Perl and python is a plus
- Strong understanding of SOC architecture
- M.S./BS with 5+ years of applicable experience or PhDs with suitable research experience
- Prior knowledge of OpenGL/OpenCL/DirectX is a plus
- Strong analytical/problem solving skills and pronounced attention to details.
- Must be a self-starter, and able to independently drive tasks to completion
- Prior knowledge of PTPX or Power Artist is a plus
