Gaming AI Software Engineer

 

THE MISSION:

Create powerful new products that enable our customers, partners, and developers in general to tackle their computing task or visualization needs, productively and creatively.   We build state of the art hardware, software, and algorithms in the field of graphics, compute architecture, computer vision, and machine learning to come up with appropriate SW-HW partitioning, architectures, models and specifications for HW/SW/FW implementations.  Develop new hardware, algorithms, or adaptations to existing systems to enable new ground-breaking capabilities and experiences. 

 

THE ROLE:

 

As an engineer at AMD, you will work with some of the brightest minds in the world to develop industry leading algorithms, software and hardware, resulting in highly desired high-performance computing, rendering and gaming systems.

 

As an AI engineer in this team, you will work on designing, developing and deploying the latest deep learning technologies to bring real-time AI to gamers, streamers, and content creators. You will drive the development of real-time AI technologies to push the boundaries of gaming, streaming, virtual reality, storytelling and beyond, bringing great impact to billions of AMD customers. You will work with a talented team of engineers to design, develop and evaluate highly creative AI applications for but not limited to game content creation and personalization, neural rendering, AI-based character animation, and emergent gameplay.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and deploy deep learning algorithms for character creation and animation from audio source and/or scripts.
  • Acquire, annotate, clean and analyze data for the development of machine learning models in this area.
  • Test and develop deep learning models that are used in audio-to-character animation, computer vision or motion simulation projects.
  • Develop ideas for new algorithms, or adaptations to existing algorithms that will enable phenomenal gaming experience and high-quality inferences with natural language understanding, DNNs, and data processing with multi-modalities.
  • Profile and analyze gaming AI and inference algorithms to identify the performance limiters of hardware or software systems; Identify and evaluate the pros and cons of different architecture decisions.
  • Implement, document, test and demonstrate new applications to assure correctness, efficiency and consistency with proposed projects.
  • Developing and implementing machine learning algorithms for information extraction, natural language understanding, pattern recognition or computer vision.
  • Strong foundation in data structures and algorithms
  • Strong software engineering skills in C++, Python
  • Proven experience with Deep Learning frameworks e.g., TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch.
  • Strong with software architecture using common design patterns.

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Proven experience in AI and deep learning and developing high quality software.
  • Background in the Game Industry or in a field that requires high performance graphics.
  • Experience in developing modules within Unity/Unreal/other similar ones desired.
  • Knowledge of GPU architecture technologies and Gaming ecosystem
  • Working experience with video and audio formats
  • Knowledge of computer vision geometry for 3D pose estimation and tracking
