Server Platform Senior BIOS Application Engineer

THE ROLE:

Let’s build great products to accelerate next generation computing experiences. AMD is looking for an experienced platform BIOS engineer to work with customers as well as internal development team on Server platform BIOS solutions for AMD’s cutting-edge server products. Come help customers solve challenging problems and help them get the most out of AMD systems.

The person:

Our ideal candidate will possess strong communication and collaboration skills, must be proactive and drive the issue to resolution. In this role you will be working closely with the end customer providing training and guidance, debugging and resolving issues in a timely manner to assure they can make their schedules.

Key responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with customers and provide BIOS and FW support on customer server platforms with AMD solutions, including technical Q&A, triage, debug, validation, and driving issue resolution. This includes supporting IBV and customer EDKII code bases.
  • Understand customer BIOS and FW requirements, articulate feature gaps into clear requests to partner stakeholders.
  • Drive feature deliverables with timelines back to customers.
  • Support internal and external platform bring-up.
  • Coordinate priorities and activities with other engineering partners to achieve commitments.
  • Work with firmware architects and SoC designers to implement proofs of concept and productize new AMD silicon features.
  • Support internal and external platform bring-up.

Preferred experience:

  • Strong knowledge of Server architecture, x86 processors, experience with UEFI and silicon initialization firmware code.
  • Solid understanding of DDR, PCIe , eSPI, etc.
  • Prior customer interfacing experience.
  • Successful track record of helping customers bring products to market.
  • Expertise in C programming language and hardware debugging.
  • Knowledge of UEFI is a plus.
  • Knowledge of RAS on AMD systems is a plus.

Academic credentials:

  • Bachelors or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or another relevant field.
