GPU Power and Performance Engineer

 

THE ROLE:

A great opportunity to join AMD’s GPU Radeon Performance & Power Group, working with bleeding-edge technologies to deliver world-class products to the marketplace across a wide range of products portfolio including discrete GPUs, laptops, gaming consoles, data centers, and mobile products.

 

THE PERSON:

A highly motivated individual with interest in hardware and firmware performance & power management. A great team player with strong collaboration and communication skills. Looking to grow their career and make an impact while expanding their experience in GPU architecture and performance and power optimization techniques.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work within the GPU performance & power optimization group to drive performance and perf-per-watt optimization initiatives from identifying new opportunities to productization, including analysis, estimations, design specification, implementation, and on-silicon measurements.
  • Collaborate with system architects and designers to define and prototype performance and power optimization mechanisms and use cases.
  • Run performance/power models and tools, collect and analyze data, and evaluate tradeoffs against projected goals.
  • Bring-up silicon and perform post-silicon debugging.
  • Develop toolchain and automation.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in performance & power management and optimization techniques.
  • Experience in power architecture and perf/power modeling.
  • Experience in pre-silicon and post-silicon debugging.
  • Experience in algorithm design and firmware developement.   
  • Knowledge in Graphics pipeline architecture is a plus.
  • C++ and scripting programming skills (e.g., Perl, Python)
  • Strong analytical skills, well organized, and self-driven to make an impact.
  • Excellent communication skills.

 

EDUCATION:

Major in EE, CS or related, Master’s Degree with 3+ years or Bachelor with 5+ years of working experience.
