Sr. Technical Product Manager- HPC & AI 


The Role:

If you have that special blend of deep technical prowess & great business savvy that makes an extraordinary Technical Architect - we have an exciting role for you! As a part of the AMD Datacenter GPU product management team, you will be a key player in defining next generation products, be a trusted technical advisor for our customers in the HPC & AI space to help them paint the ‘art of the possible’ with AMD technologies. You will work closely with our business development and sales team to develop positive relationships with customers, learn their requirements, and work to bring solutions that enable their success.


The Person:

As a senior leader on the Datacenter GPU Product Management team, your primary responsibilities will be to drive high-performance computing (HPC) and AI technical product management and support technical engagements with customers, computational scientists and developers at research institutions and universities worldwide. You should be comfortable working in a dynamic environment and have experience with HPC, AI, and software and systems. Your ability to work independently is important, and you will rely upon your excellent communication and technical skills during customer engagements. You will work closely with internal engineering and platform teams as well as the business development and sales teams to drive successful outcomes with our customers and partners.


Key responsibilities:

  • Engage with customers to develop a keen understanding of their goals, strategies, and technical needs and help to define and deliver high-value solutions that meet these needs.
  • Provide customer requirements to engineering to foster product and platform improvements.
  • Assist the business development team in guiding the customer through the sales process for accelerator computing products, being responsible for the technical relationship, and assisting customers in building creative solutions based on AMD technologies.
  • Be an industry leader with a vision on integrating AMD technologies into HPC and AI system architectures.


Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with product management and leading cross-functional teams
  • Deep work-related experience in HPC and AI
  • Experience with explaining pros/cons of architectural trade-offs for HPC and AI workloads while incorporating a technical and business view.
  • Experience with optimizing HPC and AI workloads and systems.
  • Experience with procurement and co-design engagements with HPC and AI customers.
  • Experience with HPC languages and programming models such as C/C++/Fortran/OpenMP/MPI, and data science languages and frameworks like Python/Tensorflow/PyTorch.
  • Cloud development/deployment experience e.g., Docker and Kubernetes.


Academic Credentials:

  • MS or PhD or equivalent experience in Engineering, Mathematics, Physical Sciences, or Computer Science.
