AMD is seeking an experienced and creative Processor Designer to design and develop functional pipeline units in the Next Generation Core development. Candidate should be highly experienced in the Microprocessor Development process with a proven track record of delivering high quality products on schedule. A broad understanding of Microprocessor Design and experience in RTL is needed.

 

Job Responsibilities:
•    Execute on RTL Design and Coding for various sections of the Processor Core Pipeline and related logic
•    Work with a team of hardware and software engineers to Define the High-Level Architecture 
•    Participate in the Definition of Micro Architecture of Next Generation High Performance Processor Cores
•    Contribute to Design Verification, Synthesis, Power Reduction, Timing Convergence & Floorplan efforts 

 

Preferred Education and Skills:
•    MS EE/CE/CS with senior level experience in High-Performance Microprocessor Design and Micro-architecture 
•    Experience must include a strong level of experience in Verilog RTL Development with industry tools in a CPU, SOC or ASIC environment 
•    Demonstrates expertise in the following:
        - Computer architecture
        - Logic design
        - Register Transfer Level (RTL) coding for high speed designs

        - Performance simulators
        - Power saving techniques
        - Exposure to Physical Design and Verification methods
        - Experience with Synthesis, Place and Route, and Timing closure
        - Strong Problem Solving and Debugging Skills
        - Excellent Communication and Documentation Skills 

 

Preferred Education and Skills:
•    Background in other aspects of ASIC implementation, especially with Synthesis flow and Static Timing Analysis is a plus 
•    Knowledge of Microprocessor Design-for-Test (DFT) and Design-for-Debug (DFD) logic and issues is a plus
•    Experience in Clocking, Reset, Power Up Sequences and Power Management is a plus
•    Experience with x86 Architecture (ISA) is desired
•    Comfort with Scripting such as Ruby, Perl, Shell and TCL is a plus
