THE ROLE:

Our team ensures AMD-based systems and Instinct GPUs are operating at their best before they are deployed to solve the world’s most challenging problems. To be successful in this role, you will be a hands-on leader with strong technical skills and demonstrated success developing software in an Agile environment.  You are passionate about hiring and developing your team as well as planning and managing key engineering initiatives. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead a distributed team to develop and maintain internal tools for performance analysis of data center workloads, including workload automation, data visualization and automated analysis
  • Work closely with developers and stakeholders to develop a long-term strategy and feature backlogs for your projects and translate that into achievable road maps and project plans
  • Work with developers to architect the best technical designs and approaches
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the team within an Agile/Scrum environment
  • Manage, execute, and report progress against project plans and delivery commitments
  • Establish software development best practices that are used across the entire software development life cycle
  • Contribute to code development when needed
  • Hire, mentor and develop software engineers

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Proven leadership skills and a history of delivering Linux and web application development projects
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle including requirements elicitation and analysis, scoping/estimation of effort, coding standards, code reviews, version control, build processes, testing, and continuous integration
  • Experience managing the day-to-day activities of a software engineering team using Agile methods
  • Passionate about automated testing
  • Familiarity with Machine Learning or High Performance Computing workloads, or GPU Computing a plus
  • Background with programming skills in languages such as Python, C/C++, and Linux OS
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS

B.S. or higher degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
