Senior Product Manager, Data Center GPU, HPC & AI

 

THE ROLE: 

AMD is searching for an experienced product manager to define and drive the platform requirements of AMD’s Instinct GPU products targeting HPC & AI workloads in on-premise and cloud deployments.

As a Sr. Product Manager in the Datacenter GPU Business Group, your influence will be broad within AMD, with our partners, customers, and industries that rely on HPC and AI. You will be responsible for working closely with our key customers to understand their platform architecture and requirements, translate that information into the capabilities needed across hardware and software, and work closely with AMD architects to ensure that the AMD Instinct GPU products meet our customer requirements. This is a fast paced, emerging business, and successful candidates should be able to move and adapt quickly to changing needs, lead multiple initiatives, engage at all executive levels both inside AMD and with partners, and have a consistent track record of developing products from the ground up.

 

THE PERSON: 

The successful candidate will be self-driven and passionate about bringing new solutions to market through a complex ecosystem. The ideal candidate is a dynamic software product manager and leader with strong experience in hardware and software platforms targeted at HPC and AI workloads. You should be comfortable working in a dynamic environment. Your ability to work independently is important, and you will rely upon your excellent communication skills during customer engagements. You will need to work closely with the entire customer team, including product management, business development, and sales teams to drive successful outcomes with our customers and partners.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Build and drive deep engagements with strategic end-customers to define and drive the platform requirements (hardware and software) for their HPC & AI
  • Define and own the plan of record for platform requirements for the next generation AMD Instinct GPU platforms (virtualization, RAS, etc.)
  • Drive engagements with virtualization and other platform software vendors to enable support for AMD Instinct GPU products
  • Partner with key customers and internal platform architects to ensure we have accurate architectural requirements defined and developed in the area of platform management

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • 10+ years of product management experience in Software, Developer Tools, or Data Center Solutions
  • Knowledge of AI/Machine Learning/Deep Learning/Container Technologies
  • Experience leading Cloud/XaaS (X-as-a-Service) technology platforms and managed services
  • History of working with virtualization platform companies and/or high-performance software engineering team
  • Solid understanding of server management and deployment infrastructure
  • Knowledge of software business models and software licensing models
  • Demonstrates strong analytical and critical thinking skills and a drive for results with a history of successful execution on projects

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Science or Engineering or Business University degree required 
  • MBA preferred 

 

LOCATION:

Santa Clara, California or Austin, Texas Preferred.
