THE ROLE:

AMD Enterprise team is currently looking for leaders who are passionate about Server products and would like to be part of our EPYC journey to greatly impact the x86 server market. Our team is dedicated to developing and deploying cutting edge technologies, such as our advanced chiplet design, the latest silicon process technologies, and our streamlined IO architecture, to build the groundbreaking products that tackle tomorrow’s challenges in today’s data driven world.

 

THE PERSON:

We are hiring talent leading firmware and BIOS development, inpirig clever firmware debug, and enabling world class firmware features for our most exciting product differentiators. Strong candidates will have server firmware experience in the arena of new platform bios development, data center deployment of new hardware, will apply well-honed debug methodologies to seek sophisticated issues, and will collaborate with internal design teams as well as other firmware organizations on solutions.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Planning, designing, developing Open source firmware and other platform firmware solutions
  • Closely interact with firmware developers and ASIC Design team in new feature definition and bring up for future product generation.
  • Ensure customer quality and delight of well- architected and developed solutions. 
  • Accountable on time delivery of deliverables.
  • Involves collaboration on or assuming the consultative or leadership responsibilities for a specific project or for product development initiatives.
  • Is required to deal with internal groups on behalf of the group or project.
  • Has accountability for results in a particular area of work.
  • Accountability for a team of engineers related to projects (2-5), (e.g., be involved in any of the following activities: interview and selection, day-to-day technical supervision and mentoring).
  • Influences others as a technical leader
  • Builds and leverages trusting relationships with stakeholders

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Prior experience managing people and technical teams
  • Prior experience with continuous integration frameworks, preferably Jenkins
  • Programming using scripting languages (Python, Ruby, Perl) mandatory and familiarity computer programming languages (C, C++, X86 assembly) preferred
  • Working knowledge of Agile software development processes
  • Solid knowledge of automating software/firmware test plans targeting Linux or Windows environments.
  • Solid knowledge of software development under Microsoft Windows and Linux as a plus.
  • Solid knowledge of PC architecture.
  • Solid knowledge of BIOS/Firmware interfaces (UEFI, ACPI, SMBIOS) or Windows and Linux kernel as a plus.

 

EDUCATION:

  • BS + minimum of 8 years of relevant working experience in software development
