AMD is looking for a dynamic, self-motivated, experienced Sr. Product Application Engineer to work closely with customers as well as internal development and systems engineering team to assist and address issues reported by customers. This includes training and enabling ecosystem partners with critical knowledge of AMD technologies and platforms and driving the best practices to reduce time-to-revenue, and successfully scale AMD business. The successful candidate must have comprehensive knowledge of x86 architecture and relative domain knowledge.



The candidate must be highly motivated, innovative, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. He or She must be able to quickly analyze different customer scenarios to come up with the best approach to tackle tough problems. The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills and debug methodology, strong communication skills, be self-motivated, and have a desire to help customers solve problems.



  • Work closely with customers to enable successful deployment of AMD server platforms
  • Develop and present customer communications for silicon and platform issues. Co-develop technical collateral, such as application note, user guide, sample, and reference design materials
  • Perform platform reviews (block-level, schematic, and layout review)
  • Participate in joint customer bring up
  • Own and drive closure to customer HW and platform tickets. Perform first level triage and debug for customer reported issue. Run experiments on customer boards and internal and external reference designs as needed, and provide solutions to customers
  • Provide customers technical training to improve overall customer design skillset
  • Engage directly on key technical topics, issues, architecture discussions, and performance optimizations with customers and internal teams
  • Collaborate seamlessly across domains including platform and silicon engineering, product management, and field application engineering
  • Attend customer calls and answer HW and platform questions



  • Proven track record of success working directly with customers to develop systems from concept to production
  • Experience in high-speed IO board design and/or signal integrity validation is strongly preferred
  • Hardware development experience
  • Strong knowledge in x86 processors, DDR, PCIE, SATA, USB, multiprocessor systems, power management and system management
  • Team player with passion and a keen sense of urgency and strong drive
  • Fluent in English written and verbally



  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related engineering fields
