THE ROLE:

We are seeking a software engineer in Santa Clara to develop innovative gaming software technologies for AMD's graphics cards. You will be working with the very best in our technology, on some of the most exciting projects the industry has to offer, including new hardware, Direct3D 12, Ray Tracing, and new game titles.

The person:

  • Passionate about playing computer games and image quality, loves physics, hates lag
  • Excellent coding & problem-solving skills, fast learner, affinity for new technologies, a doer and a maker
  • Good communication skills and an ability to communicate well with teams around the globe
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

 

Key responsibilities:

  • The development, debug, bring up, and performance tuning of new gaming features.
  • Collaborating with hardware/software architects, OS engineers and peers in related development teams.
  • Playing computer games.

 

Preferred experience:

  • Excellent C/C++ programming skills
  • PC/Console FPS/3rdPerson hobbyist gamer
  • Familiarity with gaming aspects such as latency, variable rendering workloads, etc.
  • Practical experience beyond pure math & coding - e.g. engineering & physics
  • Knowledge of computer hardware architecture and organization
  • Experience with multi-threading and concurrent programming
  • Windows development experience

 

Plus experience:

  • Experience developing and optimizing games

  • D3D or OpenGL graphics application knowledge and experience

  • OS and performance knowledge and experience

  • 3D graphics driver knowledge and experience

 

 

Academic credentials:

BS Degree in STEM; MS or PhD desired.
