JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a Tax Intern, you will be supporting the Santa Clara tax department in aspects of the domestic and world-wide income tax provision.  You will be working with tax department professionals to identify repetitive workflows for process improvement, to explore and implement automation tools.

MAJOR FUNCTIONS 

INCOME TAX PROVISION AND REPORTING SUPPORT:

• Assist with the 2020 quarterly domestic and world-wide income tax provision including reconciliation of data in workpapers with SAP trial balance and other source documents and reviewing book/tax adjustments.
• Support tax projects which includes preparation of workpapers and schedules.
• Assist with proof-reading tax memos.
• Assist with preparing Power Point presentations and slide decks.
• Assist with ad-hoc income tax research.

OTHER PROJECTS

• Assist with the implementation and testing of tax provision and Alteryx software and assist with preparing process documentation.
• Hands-on with Alteryx tool to design some workflow automation.

PROBLEM SOLVING & DECISION MAKING:

• Identification of potential tax issues, summarization of the facts and background, exploration of possible alternatives or resolutions, and suggested course of action. 
• Ability to interface with a wide range of business professionals throughout AMD.
• Ability to prioritize tasks assigned. 

 MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: 

Skills:

• Intermediate Accounting, Business English, Federal income tax course work
• Candidates should be pursuing an undergrad or master’s degree, graduating within the next year
• Excellent analytical, communication, and people skills
• Competence in Word, Excel and PowerPoint a major plus
• Experience with SAP and/or RIA a major plus
