Technical Writing Manager – Datacenter Ecosystem and Application Engineering team

 

Working directly with senior engineers, you will lead our efforts to develop and manage the technical publication requirements across the Datacenter Ecosystem and Application Engineering team. The team’s publication requirements include technical solution briefs, white papers, and other external facing collateral. Working closely with others on the team, you will be responsible for producing documentation showcasing AMD EPYC alignment with our software and hardware ecosystem partners. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the creation and distribution of the portfolio of documents required by the Datacenter Ecosystem and Application Engineering team, including writing, editing and coordinating input from the engineering teams.
  • Manage the publications strategy for the Datacenter Ecosystem and Application Engineering team
  • Manage the technical and workflow processes that enable the production high-quality documentation for both internal and external audiences
  • Make recommendations on strategic direction and process improvements.
  • Ability to work across the Datacenter Ecosystem and Application Engineering team to achieve required results

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Writing, Computer Science, or equivalent
  • At least 10 years of technical communication or related experience, including 4 years of management experience.
  • Hands-on development experience with markdown-based publishing systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner
  • Experience working directly with software engineering teams

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience writing and editing technical and marketing collateral with an emphasis on understanding the logic of how computing solutions work and their business value applied across a broad spectrum of industry workloads.
  • Experience working in high tech, an understanding of data center computing solutions and familiarity with x86 server technology
  • Knowledge and experience with developer-focused platforms, frameworks, and tools
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ideas and know-how to create modern, cutting-edge content for our customers
