Sr. Quality Engineer



Customer Quality Engineering team is part of global Quality & Reliability organization to provide quality service to OEM & ODM customers and act as customer voice to drive AMD product and process quality improvement. CQE team located worldwide to provide real time services to customer in Shanghai, Shenzhen, Chongqing, Suzhou, Taipei, US, Mexico, India and EU.CQE engineer have opportunity to learn FEOL & BEOL knowledges during the collaboration with Design, SW/HW, Product &Test, Packaging & Assembly, etc. cross functional teams.

  • Act as “single point of contact” for ODM customers on quality
  • Lead investigation of production quality and yield issue at ODM customers to identify possible root causes and work with AMD functional teams to drive effective correction actions & preventative measures.
  • Provide accurate & comprehensive data analysis to tackle integrated issues and guide AMD functional team to speed up problem solving.
  • Support PLQ to achieve #1 Quality Rankings among key customers determined by customer scorecards.
  • Drive quality-related dedicated and reactive communication.
  • Acknowledge and drive closure of RMAs, quality-related issues and customer requests
  • Work closely with ODM sites & AMD functional teams to ensure robust preventive actions are in place so there is no recurrence of issue
  • OSV (On-site-verification) deployment for major volume sites and HW/SW/FAE allocation to assure the early identification of root causes. 
  • Customer Support and Internal Feedback to champion “voice of customers” on quality within AMD
  • Actively communicate feedback from your customers to AMD functional team
  • Conduct training at customer sites.



  • Expect well-organized, self-directed, self-starter, highly motivated, proactive problem solver with the ability to get results without owning resources and possessing direct authority.
  • Experience in semiconductor manufacturing and qualification processes as well as reliability procedures, semiconductor assembly/packaging and testing.
  • Familiar and experienced with problem-solving methodologies such as 8D or PDCA.
  • Experience in statistical process control and yield analysis
  • Good understanding of board layout and schematics, working knowledge of Windows OS and software.



  • Preferred a BS/MS degree in Electronic Engineering with 5-10 years of related experience in the areas of semiconductor manufacturing, product engineering, quality engineering
