PMTS Software Development – CSE Architect

 

THE ROLE:

You will be part of RTG (Radeon Technologies Group) Custom Software Engineering (CSE) Group working on software feature & solution architectures based on the OEM/ODM customer designs and development opportunities, driving innovative software solutions from concepts through productization on AMD’s APU/GPU hardware and ensure the on quality/schedule deliveries.

  • Seasoned technical leader with excellent insight and acumen into technology evolutions in the PC and Graphics industry.
  • Passionate in driving leading edge SW innovations and making AMD and its customers win together.
  • Energetic in building strategic relationship and influencing key executive decision makers across the industry.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Architect level technical liaison to help OEM/ODM decision makers in R&D and Business Planning understand how AMD’s GFX technologies can enhance the platforms on their roadmap and align to their schedules.
  • Soliciting feedback from customers, working closely with global Business Units, Client/RTG Platform and SW architects and domain experts.  
  • Influencing technical/architecture definition and feature roadmaps to align with OEM/AiB customers’ short and long term customized Software/Solution needs.
  • Lead a virtual team consist of domain owners within global Software teams and Customer Engineering teams, to drive solid introduction/implementation plan of AMD technologies and features into OEM product lines.
  • Convey 2+ year visibility of AMD and OEM technology roadmap with Tier 1 OEM customers, highlighting key inflection points in Display, Multimedia, and OS strategies.
  • System level understanding and expertise of AMD technologies.  Ensure the many disparate components and features function cohesively together for a compelling solution through collaboration with domain experts and architects.
  • 20%+ domestic or international travel expected.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Excellent English oral, written and presentation skills with ability to present to internal SW stakeholders as well global customers
  • Ability to communicate with customer and convert customer pain points to AMD solutions. Ability to communicate and co-work with a wide variety of stakeholders effectively.
  • Good team player in global team structure, strong experience as a technical leader, actively mentor and train teammates
  • Strong self-learning ability and logical thinker. Highly self-motivated, strong mindset on ownership and accountabilities.
  • Minimum experience in a similar industry as a Senior Technical Leader or  Architect role    (Bachelor: 10 yrs; Masters: 8 yrs; PhD: 5 yrs) plus:
    • Experience in end to end PC or its sub-system design and development is expected
    • Knowledge on the x86 platform architecture is expected
    • Strong familiarity with graphics architecture is a plus
    • C/C++ programming (5+ yrs) is a plus
    • Experience in software programming/debug device drivers under Windows or Linux environment is a plus.

 

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor or higher degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Engineering, or an equivalent

 

LOCATION:

 

Preferred at Shanghai or Taipei, negotiable.
