IP System Design Engineer

 

 

 

THE ROLE:

Post-silicon become an important role to verify chip function in nowadays. ICT post-silicon validation team own lots of peripheral standard IP’s silicon bring-ip/validation, such as PCIE/USB/ESPI/NTB/NBIF, nBIF stands for “New Bus Interface” IP inside AMD, as one of main IP inside current team. As a Systems Engineer of IPSE, own post-silicon bring-up/feature enable of AMD internal IPs for AMD SOC projects.

 

THE PERSON:

Owns developing and executing the IP-level bring-up and feature validation plans, attempts to reproduce, triage and debug all silicon issues.

 

 

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reading Design spec then write IP feature list and write test plan for each feature
  • Define/maintain feature list and unit test plan
  • Write doc for tools team, write script to collect status to assist issue debug
  • Executing PCIe IP test plan after ASIC back
  • Debugging of PCIe IP issues found during bring up, validation, and production phases. Supporting chief engineer to write technical document if required
  • Work with product teams to communicate IP feature verification and enablement status, demonstrate IP End-to-End ownership

 

 

 PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years working experience in technical fields or similar fields, Joined IP function verification and validation such as PCIE/USB. Knowledge of analysis PCIe or USB trace is a plus
  • In-depth knowledge of PC architectures
  • Strong self-learning capability, strong individual analysis, hands-on working, problem solving skills
  • Strong hardware experience with board design and onboard debug skill
  • Experienced with programming/scripting skills (eg. C/C++, Python, Ruby, Assembly), known software experience with operating system, kernel, BIOS, as a plus
  • Good communication skills and English reading/writing skill
  • Knowledge of Verilog and Verdi is plus

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor degree or above in technical fields of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Software, or related area
