RTG HW System Engineering Program Manager

 

THE ROLE:

You will have the opportunity to take ownership for the completion of complex, cross-functional and cross-regional Platform Engineering projects which impact one or more AMD Graphics product launches. You will accomplish project goals in the context of a matrix organization with people assigned from functional organizations (e.g. silicon bring-up, silicon validation, electrical analysis, platform design, debug, tools engineering, customer support, etc.) in a global engineering environment

    • Demonstrated leadership of complex cross-functional engineering teams in an R&D environment.
    • Ensures optimal use of assigned resources.
    • Effectively influences laterally/up/down to achieve goal.
  • Communications
    • Extensive experience with executive presentations and proposals including the ability to summarize complex situations and recommendations succinctly.
  • Problem Solving and decision making
    • Able to navigate ambiguous data and opinions to achieve consensus quickly through use of well-developed facilitation skills.
    • Demonstrates ability to make difficult decisions with limited information.
  • Drive for results
    • Track record of delivery to program commitments for scope, budget and schedule while managing change.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • End to End HDW Sys Engineering Focus (one voice)
  • Own overall HDW Sys Engineering Schedule – key milestones, deliverables, work items
  • Drive interlock/dependency/deliverables across the team to build execution plan at portfolio and down to SKU level
  • Present status, risks and recommendations to HW Sys Eng. teams, CECs and execs – dashboards
  • Primary conduit for CEC and cross functional teams to HW Sys Eng. teams – including PSG gates, SKU approvals
  • Drive overall execution relying on input from Board PM, CTA PM, PEL and functional teams
  • Identify program issues, bottlenecks, risks and drive to resolution
  • Drive issue resolution on major cross functional issues not under ownership of existing Technical & PM leaders

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • A technology related bachelor’s degree above with high tech R.&D. Engineering PM experience including management of complex global in-house HW platform NPI projects, management of engineering teams, and direct engineering experience.

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • BS./MS. in C.S. or E.E.
  • PMP Certification is preferred
  • English CET Grade 6 above, Fluent in written/oral English communication with foreigners.
