SMTS, Lead Systems Engineer

THE ROLE:

AMD Lead System Engineer is technical lead of AMD APU/CPU program. Drive the system solution quality. Guide engineering team(Firmware, Silicon, Board Design, SW, etc.) to achieve the program target.

THE PERSON:

We are looking for a technical lead who has technical leadership in systems design area. A quick learner for new technologies. Excellent communication skill (both verbal and written).

Key performance skills include Risk assessment, decision making, problem solving, teamwork and leadership.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Technical program leadership to Client product. End to End support program Define/Plan/Bring up/Enablement/Validation/Deployment/Sustaining
• Pre-Silicon accountable for reference board infrastructure plan, Validation coverage plan, Feature enablement/Feature optimization definition, and Emulation plan and execution
• Post-Silicon accountable for overall engineering  execution to production solution. 
• Leading Client system feature enablement with relevant key stakeholder
• Risk assessment and make priority call of issue, drive system solution quality of Sample/SW
• Launch engineering support and filed critical issue debug
• Drive process optimization for the program execution, work together with other teams to make program execution more efficient and with high quality.
• Has good communication skills
• Partner with PM to report program status to management and executive team

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• 10+ year experience in the industry
• Design leader and system platform debug experiences is required, experience of Lead team is plus
• Risk assessment & make issue priority call with engineering team
• Debugging experience of issues from hardware, firmware, software, and OS.
• Solid understanding of X86 Architecture, Operating System, Driver, BIOS and FW fundamentals.
• Knowledge of AMD platform and SOC platform design.
• Exceptional English and Chinese verbal and written skills are must
• Good communication skills/ Teamwork/ management.
• Experience of working with multi-site engineering team

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• BS-EE / BS-CE with 10+ years directly related experience. An advanced degree will be a plus.
