SENIOR SILICON DESIGN ENGINEER

 

The Role:

Join an industry leading Graphics IP team which specializes in the design and verification of AMD’s Graphics Processors. You are an ASIC Verification expert, and you will own critical tasks which directly impact the quality of products. This role involves specifying, designing and implementing test plans and verification environments using UVM and other advanced verification methodologies; and working with the team to test, debug, and deliver quality designs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with architects, hardware engineers, and verification engineers to understand the development targets
  • Specify and develop verification environments, test plans, and coverage targets
  • Contribute to project planning and tracking by providing resource estimates, identifying schedule milestones, and monitoring progress during project execution
  • Support the architecture, design and modelling team members by providing a specialist verification contribution
  • Debug test failures to determine the root cause; work with engineers to resolve design defects and correct any errors
  • Contribute to review of functional and code coverage metrics
  • Enhance the verification environment and testing to improve quality
  • Identify and implement opportunities for improving AMD’s ASIC design and verification methodologies and processes

 

Required Experience:

  • Specifying hardware verification environments and test plans
  • Developing functional verification environments using System Verilog/UVM
  • Developing formal verification environments
  • Analyzing and improving verification coverage in functional and formal environments
  • Debugging RTL and C++ implementations
  • Proficient with industry standard ASIC verification tools
  • Constrained Random Verification (CRV)
  • Coverage Driven Verification (CDV)
  • System Verilog Assertions (SVA)
  • System Verilog Functional Coverage (SFC)

 

Preferred Experience:

  • IP level ASIC hardware or software design
  • C++, C familiarity
  • Proficient in hardware and software debug tools in Unix/Linux OS environments
  • Graphics pipeline knowledge

Academic Credentials:

  • Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
