Marketing Manager (Specialist)

 

THE ROLE:

The Japan Channel Marketing Specialist reports to the Consumer Marketing Lead and is the main AMD marketing point of contact for OEM partners that design and manufacture notebook and desktop personal computers (PCs). He/she will be responsible for managing communications between our Regional OEM partners and various AMD Marketing teams.

 

THE PERSON:

The OEM Consumer Channel Marketing Specialist should have a willingness and ability to jump in, take the lead, learn, and inspire others. He/she will produce exceptional and impactful marketing work.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support all verticals business and regional marketing team in executing in-country marketing team on tactical execution of tasks to enable team to focus on strategic initiatives included:

 

  • In-country support for Japan Local Commercial, Consumer and Component Sales & Regional Marketing; interface with all Japan local marketing agencies to complete tasks related to marketing execution
  • Commercial: Establish key distributors, major OEMs local marketing implementation
  • Component: Drive local channel and SI related GPU marketing executions i.e. key product launches, events, store exposure and on ground activations
  • Consumer/Component retail executions : Coordinate custom marketing asset requirements with local agencies - In-store POSM deployment and coordination. Communication of assets and branding guidelines to partner or sales community once released
  • Localized content support as the bridge between AMD HQ and Japan, close the gaps on content support across all segments.
  • Internal and agency tactical support of the Regional Marketing Managers for regional marketing events (gaming events, industry events, customer reseller/training events)
  • Coordination of ordering and shipping assets to events
  • Managing event payments and consolidations as required
  • Tracking of calendar of events and coordination with local sales leads for events, demos, event materials or promotional items
  • Work with marketing operations team to support questions and enquiries on customer marketing claims. Follow up with customers on questions and requirements.
  • Coordinate ops trainings with key customer accounts that require heavier lift

 

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of experience in a customer facing marketing role, with account marketing management experience a plus.
  • Customer focus and follow-through is a must.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize multiple accounts and tasks effectively.
  • Thorough understanding of current marketing strategies, tactics, and trends, especially digital.
  • Creative problem solving and accountability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Comfort with ambiguous situations. Flexibility to change course based on new information or shifting business needs.
  • Confidence in public speaking situations.
  • Availability to travel.

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience or training.
