Principal Platform Application Engineer

Principal Platform Application Engineer is responsible for technical customer support of AMD processors focused on NB, DT, and Workstation markets. Role requires strong technical skill and business acumen to successfully engage customers and partners alike to jointly define develop and deploy products. Role requires pan mechanical, hardware and software development and debugging skills in support of design and validation efforts, generation of technical documentation and communication with PMs, Business Units, and customers to negotiate and drive the right solution.


• Strong communication skills and ability to work within a multicultural and global team based in different worldwide locations
• Good written communication skills, excellent documentation and presentation skills
• Acting as a technical liaison between customer and AMD teams to ensure `best-in-class' products
• Ability to understand complex technical problems
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision


• Provide guidance to Mobile/DT company product design engineer to support their design of AMD’s discrete graphics, CPUs, and chipsets. This includes issues analyzing and technology training.
• Review customer system designs to help them to get into production and work with OEM customers to ensure the design meets AMD requirements. Overseas reviews and training activities when to support customers.
• Overseas reviews and training activities when to support customers.
• Generate policies and procedures to enhance the capabilities of the group.
• Be the voice of AMD to communicate with customers
• On-site support customer to resolve issues.
• Pan hardware and software field issue investigation.


• BSEE/MSEE with over 6 years (Sr. Engineer) / 10 years (MTS) / 15 years (PMTS/SMTS) of Hardware and Software related experience.
• Mobile PC or Server or NB design, debug, and test experience a must.
• Familiar with log capture, debug and triage tools.
• Experience with engineering issue management and solid work skill is required.
• Good communication ability (Written and Verbal) in English.
• Ability to work in a team environment.



• Bachelor or Master, major in EE, CS or related area
