Manager of Advance Formal Verification

 

THE ROLE:

 

The Advance Formal Verification team is dedicated to formal verification. It provides formal functional and security verification for a broad range of IPs including input-output virtualization, PCIe Root-Complex/End-Point, inter-chiplet highspeed connections, etc.   We are currently looking for a verification professional with expertise in IP verification, formal verification methodologies, highspeed IO bus protocols and team leadership to take on the role of the Manager of the team.  In this highly visible role, the qualified candidate will oversee a global team of 20+ engineers and will be accountable for the formal pre-silicon verification for all IPs.  This role will also provide exposure to senior level management (Directors/VPs) within AMD through critical program reviews, status reporting and handling of escalations.

 

THE PERSON : 

Will have leadership capabilities and can work with cross functional global teams with the ability to motivate.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accountable for the overall operation of the team and formal verification of IPs.
  • Work with System/Verification Architects and Senior Management to define and build a scalable verification strategy and organization to meet AMD’s roadmap needs.
  • Directly manage and develop a medium size formal verification team of 10+ engineers located across North American sites.
  • Oversee the execution of a global team of 20+ formal verification engineers across multiple sites (North America, China, Eastern Europe and India).  
  • Collaborate with architects and designers to understand IP features.
  • Lead and track verification planning, implementation and execution
  • Review metrics and deliver task with high quality.
  • Provide executive level readouts and status reports to all levels of management.
  • Identify, drive and develop efficiency and IP quality improvement initiatives.

 

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Overall design verification experience in the ASIC industry in a design verification lead or management role.
  • Strong background in formal property verification (FPV), sequential equivalence checking (SEC/SEQ/SLEC), and/or academic formal methods.
  • Expertise in a formal property language, abstraction techniques, formal sign-off and commercial formal tools (VC-Formal, JasperGold, Qusta Formal, etc.).
  • Extensive experience verifying complex, packet or control based designs of Verilog
  • Familiarity with industry standard high-speed protocols such as PCIe, SATA, USB.
  • Experience with verification of Hardware-Firmware interaction is highly desirable.

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • BS (or higher) degree in Electronics/Electrical or Computer Engineering desired
